England – by Alex

The British Museum has very cool things. Such as the Rosetta stone, the winged bull, emerald snake mosaic and the Parthenon panels. After a while, around 4 hours, it starts to get a lot less interesting. It’s a shame that when we went there the Medieval Europe room was closed because I wanted to see the collection of armour and weapons.
Another fun thing to do in London is to ride the London eye. The ride is a half hour long which seems like a long time but the ride goes by fast. Before you ride there’s a interesting movie where there are bubbles, mist and water and it’s also in 3d. There’s actually a lot of capsules on the London eye Ferris wheel because every minute one of them is either being off-loaded or loaded. The London eye is also pretty secure because they do checks for bombs or bags left behind on the capsule. Two people search it while holding detectors.
We also went to the Globe Theater and saw Henry IV. The first half was kind of boring, and there was also weird fishing wire on the beams of the theater. But the second half was a lot better because it was more action-packed and they fought with swords. I liked the part when the fat guy pretended to kill Percy who was rebelling against the king. It was neat how the set changed a little bit in each scene.
Also the Calvary museum was really cool because you could try on what today’s Calvary wear and what the old-fashioned Calvary wore. You could also see the Queen’s Calvary horses but they didn’t look very happy to be Calvary horses. They were just in the stalls and didn’t have a lot of room to roam.
There was also a really cool dragon-shaped cannon outside of the museum. It looked like they spent more time designing the dragon on the cannon than the cannon’s usefulness. There was also a Turkish cannon from the 1500s there. It seems the Turks also took too much time decorating their cannons.
