Well I haven’t written in a while so, I guess I’m sorry. Don’t take it personally though it wasn’t because I didn’t like you guys anymore I was just working on an extra long post, so when I post it hopefully you’ll all forgive me.
We’ve been at the Maria Theresia orphanage for a while, and the kids are awesome! There’s so many fun things to do. We had a B-B-Q, and a dance party. It was great! Although a couple of things went wrong, I personally think it went well. Our family alone in the kitchen…not such a good idea, but still quite fun. I stayed in cooking for most of the dance party, Megan went out though, it was funny. Everyone here knows how to dance so well! There were kids break dancing and jumping around all over the place.
Some kids here really know how to play soccer, or football as they call it. The first couple of days, I thought that they meant the game of Football, like American Football. The problem was I couldn’t play America Football if my life depended on it. So when I saw them kicking around the familiar soccer ball, I gave a sigh of relief. It was in vain though, I may be able to play a little soccer but never like them, they’re crazy about soccer. I went out onto the court, and tried to take the ball from them. I spent about thirty minutes of my life chasing them around the court, trying to get a simple soccer ball. Finally, they pitied me just enough that they gave me the soccer ball, only for a couple seconds though… then they took it right back and the cycle started all over again. I can play with the girls though. There not as harsh as the boys, who were trying their best to keep it from me. The girls would pass to me, and I could steal it from them without much chase. In other words, who would I play with more? Well, what are my choices? Either run around all day trying to get a ball from someone who just keeps passing it to someone else, like a game of monkey in the middle. Or, play with a group of people who are sort of on your level that you might be able to play with. YOU decide.
I’m so glad we came to this orphanage, and I wish our time here was longer. As I said, the kids are great. Everyone is so welcoming and kind. The little kids all watch me in awe, as I stumble through a couple notes on the piano. I’m not very good, but one of them has taken to calling me Tchaikovsky, either that or she expects me to magically start playing it. All I can play without being too embarrassed is ‘The Rose’ by whom ever. That and Doe a Dear, and the tiniest bit of ‘O Christmas Tree’ but that’s as far as my ‘skills’ can reach. Anyway everyone nice, and this has made my favorite country by far, Bulgaria.

I knew your lessons would come in handy at some point ;}
If only we had learned a act to perform as a family. Everywhere we go, the kids do a performance and then they expect us to do a classic American performance. Of course, we are at a loss for what that would be and have done things like teach them Cotton Eyed Joe. Any suggestions for something we could learn and perform. The Irish visitors really showed us up with their Irish step dancing
